I heart faces-Play

I just love the expression on "Bick's" face.  My dad is wonderful with Owen.  We are so lucky to have him in our lives.

Motherhood-Rock the Shot

Rock the Shot- Motherhood

I just love this photo and I know this mom does too!  This little five year old was tired out after her photo session at the park that mom picked her up to carry her.

I love it when I can capture unplanned, unposed moments like this.

A couple of my favorite guys.

Boy do I love these guys... and boy do they love each other!  I've been trying to get photos of them together forever.  Who knew the perfect opportunity would come right after bath time two nights ago. Sometimes the unplanned candid session can yield some of your favorite photos.  You never know when kids or pets for that matter  will be in the mood.   I'm planning on hanging these three in a collage frame.   Keep your camera or phone close by so you don't miss out on precious memories like these.

Bick's Potato Soup AKA Potato Milk

My son lovingly refers to my dad as Bick.  He came up with this name during his "Clock Movie" (Back to the Future) phase.  So, we think he might have been trying to say Biff.  Anyhow, my dad makes my favorite potato soup, which my husband lovingly calls "potato milk".  Potato milk is a more fitting name because this is a very thin milky soup.   It's an easy recipe and you only need a few ingredients.  It's great on a cold night, but I have been known to make it in the heat of summer.

Milk-any kind you like.  Normally, we drink skim milk, but for the recipe I used 2%

Potatoes- I used Michigan Russet's, about 5 small ones, but use as many or few as you like

Celery- I like celery hearts but any kind will do.  I sliced about 3 stalks

Onion- I used a quarter of a large sweet yellow onion

garlic powder, salt and pepper and butter or margarine

Chop the ingredients add to a stock pot cover with cold water.  Boil until the potatoes are tender but not mushy.  Dump out the water and add the milk.  Here you just pour in as much as you like.  I covered all the veggies plus a little.  Add the garlic powder, salt and pepper to taste.  Heat until hot ... do not boil.  Once the soup is warm add some butter.  That's it.  I love it with some crusty bread.  It's even better reheated.
